The Lord’s big season reaches its peak over the weekend of 153. Open, with extended coverage from Royal Portrush Live exclusively on Sky Sports.
The tournament will return to Northern Ireland for the first time since 2019, when Shane Lowry impressed to demand his virgin big title, while Xander Schaugffele is back as defense champion after last year’s victory at Royal Troon.

Rory McIlroy competes at home for the first time since he ended his career Grand Slam on Masters in April, but has work to do to register another major victory of the season as he tracks Scheffler with seven shots, with the defense champion SchaUffele another shot back.
However, Scheffler is the player who has to beat as he chases a fourth bigger victory in so many years – the star -studded field will be on the hunt.

When does the coverage of the open?
Open started Thursday and is at the halfway stage of the event with live covering, which began on Saturday at. 9 with ‘Saturday at Open’, before the first tee shot at. 9.35 on Sky Sports Golf with action until 7 p.m. 20.30, with bonus feeds available on Sky Sports+ or Sky Sports app.
‘Sunday at Open’ starts the last round of coverage on Sunday at. 8 to the winner of the 153rd Open, which was crowned later that night.
Early games from the last two rounds start on Sky Sports+ and the Sky Sports app before full coverage starts at Sky Sports Golf at 1 p.m. 11 Saturday and at.
What extra cover of Open will be on Sky Sports+?
There will be four separate highlighted groups to be followed every day, two in the morning and two in the afternoon, with these groups and timings confirmed when the tee times are announced.
On Saturday, Bryson Defechambeau and Nathan Kimsey (1025 Tee Off) see Shane Lowry and Jon Rahm (1130) in the early highlighted groups before the rounds of Ludvig Aberg and Justin Rose (1400), then Rory McIlroy and Jordan Smith (1430) can be followed in the afternoon.
The highlighted hole feed will be a ‘couple-three channel’ and cover the iconic pairs of three sixth and 16 holes, with the offer available from 14:00 during the first two rounds, 13:00 on Saturday and noon on Sunday.
