I recently moved to a new apartment and unfortunately the television did not make the cut under the amicable roommate division. While my study is not as cramped as my previous living situations, it felt mounting a voluminous TV into the living area still impractical for me.
In my search for a suitable alternative, a boot called Lumi Labs to test his new portable projector, Lumi Max. From the moment I removed it, I was impressed with how far projectors have come since my college days when I fought a dingy that was going down from a friend projecting grained video in my dorm room.
One of the things I value at Lumi Max is its compact design. It stands vertically, making it perfect for small spaces; It can easily rest on a shelf or be tucked away when not in use. When weighing in just over 4 pounds, it is noticeably lighter than many other projectors on the market. The founders are eager camping enthusiasts, so it is designed to fit close to backpacks, making it convenient to travel and configure in an outdoor environment. Plus, it comes with a carrying bag.
The prominent feature of Lumi Max, which became available earlier this month, is its partnership with Google. By default, the projector runs on Google TV and gives access to over 10,000 apps, more than 700,000 movies and TV shows and over 800 free live -TV channels out of the box. Setting up it is simple if you already have a Google account and it includes a remote control for easy navigation.
In addition to the built -in Google TV, other features caught my attention, just as the Autofocus and Disease features. Lumi Max can recognize objects on the wall – such as image frames, plants or shelves – and adjust the image location automatically. Since I haven’t put any art on my walls yet, I had an empty canvas to work with. However, it warned me when my chair was in the way so I could easily move it to the best viewing experience.
Display size is also impressive: 40 to 120 inches, and it is coupled with 1080p full HD resolution and 4K UHD compatibility.
Another pleasant surprise was the sound quality. Lumi Max has two 5W speakers (delivers a total audio output of 10W) ​​and there is also Dolby Audio Support so you can connect it to an external audio system for improved sound performance.
