Liverpool -tip Mohamed Salah has defended her former teammates after a fan -Social media page claimed that the Reds have produced the “biggest upgrade in football history” on two attacking stars.
The X account suggested that Liverpool had seriously upgraded on the attacking options for Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez By bringing in Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isaac For a combined £ 241 million
But Salah called for more respect for Diaz and Nunez, who delivered a Premier League title to Arne Slot’s side.
He quoted the post and said, “How about we celebrate the big signings without respecting the PL -the champions?”
Isaac arrived Liverpool late on Deadline Day after a transfer saga that was rumbled during the summer. He cost the Red £ 125m – a British transfer record.
He is currently with the Sweden troop in front of their World Cup qualification. If he plays, it will be his first minutes of the season after he refused to be with Newcastle in an attempt to construct an exit.
Wirtz ended up before the start of the season for £ 116m and has started in each Premier League game so far. He was taken late with a bank against Arsenal Super Sunday.
Diaz left Liverpool to Bayern Munich earlier in the window for £ 65m, with Wirtz seen as his replacement. Darwin Nunez moved to the Saudi Arabian side al-Hilal, and Isaac now carries his left no. 9 shirt.
Between them, Diaz and Nunez played almost 300 appearances for Liverpool.
Sky Sports Pundit Jamie Carragher replied to Salah’s quote on x with a red heart -emoji, which suggested he agrees with the tips of the tips.
Carragher: Isaac, Wissa Sagas could lead to sad days for football
Carragher believes that Isaac and Yoane Wissa Transfer Sagas can lead to a “sad day for football” in the future – after both strikers went effectively on strike to get their move.
Talking to Sky Sports NewsCarragher said: “You look at Guehi, who was doing greatly well and still feeling a fan favorite at Palace supporters and the manager, who is also talking a lot about him. He will have to wait maybe until January now or next summer to get that step.
“Other players in this position of a year will look at how Isaac and Wissa have gone around and how it gives them a greater opportunity to get out – and it would be a sad day for football. Because I don’t think it’s been great how both players have led themselves.
“I have no trouble with players who want to leave a club – transfers happen and that is part of the game. It is understandable that these two players want to move on and play for bigger clubs to give them a better chance of their careers and win more silverware or maybe get more money.
“But I can’t help but believe that if anyone puts thousands of pounds into your bank account every week, you have to train and play.
“But would both of these players have moved if it wasn’t? We don’t know. Both players haven’t got it, they will, you have to get on to it. Let’s see what happens to both players for Liverpool and Newcastle respectively.”
