Sinner has until 1 p.m. 14 Sunday, August 17 to repair with an alternative partner to maintain a direct entry into the competition based on his single ranking, otherwise the world # 1 would have to rely on a Wild Card to compete.

Traditionally, in the latter stages of Grand Slams, US open organizers announced earlier this year that they would hold the mixed double tournament over two days a week before the main tournament in an attempt to attract more high -profile players.
