Lando Norris put a marker in a dramatic first practice on the Dutch Grand Prix when Max Verstappen stranded his Red Bull after the Zandvoort session.
Norris Trails Championship Leader Oscar Piastri with only nine points in the position after winning three of the last four races before the summer holidays and continued where he escaped in the final round of Hungary.
The British driver put a blower 1: 10,278 to beat Piastri with 0.292s with the McLaren duo far ahead of the field on Formula One’s return.
Norris, who dominated last year’s Dutch Grand Prix, and immediately then pleased with the car’s balance, as the whole field was eager to complete as many laps as possible on the media and softs, given heavy rainfall for second practices later on Friday at. 15. Sky Sports F1.

Mercedes -Rookie Kimi Antonelli was also stranded earlier in the session as he locked himself by turn 9 and caused a red flag just 12 minutes into the session.
Lewis Hamilton said on Thursday that he was looking to “enjoy” the last 10 rounds this season after a challenging start to life at Ferrari.
However, Hamilton struggled from OFF and had a dramatic early spin that went into the knocked turn 3.

Aston Martin Pair Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso were a surprise third and fourth in half a second behind Norris, and Williams’ Alex Albon was fifth.
George Russell, who confirmed that he did not want to postpone his Mercedes contract negotiations during the summer holidays, was seventh behind Verstappen.
Williams’ Carlos Sainz I eighth led Sauber’s Gabriel Boredoleto and Alpine’s Pierre Gasly to finish the top 10 in an eventful session.
