This summer, thousands of students around the world end their Google Practice Space. When asked why they chose Google for their internship, they quoted a number of reasons from developing their skills in a high -performance environment to the idea of working with some of the most innovative leaders in AI. Everywhere, the biggest reason was the chance to do real work on meaningful projects and contribute to improving tools and technologies used by billions around the world.
To celebrate International Internal Day 2025, I spoke with three Google trainees – all work with artificial intelligence or machine learning – to better understand their projects. Here’s what they had to say:
Lalit Mohanani: Software Engineering Internal | Pune, India
“Google has been my dream; I would work on projects with massive, positive impact and define new industrial standards. As an intern, I now improve AI-Communication Security. My project allows clients to cryptographically verify an AI server that is properly, unmistakized code in a confidential environment before data exchange and secure end-to-end-privacy peace and security in their data Zero-Trust environment.
Hyojung Han: Research Internal on Google Translate | Mountain View, USA
“This summer I am working to improve how multilingual large language models (LLMs) handle cultural nuance and complexity in translation. A well -known challenge with LLMs is that although they are great at generalizing universal knowledge, they can inadvertently undermine the nuances of different cultures, views and information.
