For years, we’ve worked to bring the best of Google to the world of health. Already, over a billion questions on Google Search are health-related every day. More people are turning to the Gemini app to ask health questions, prepare for doctor’s appointments, and support their well-being. And with Fitbit and Pixel Watch, we’ve invested in world-class wearables to provide continuous health guidance.
Today, we’re announcing a major step forward – enabling users to take even more control over their health and well-being and provide continuous, proactive and personalized guidance. Here’s what’s coming:
-A single app solution: the Google Health app
The Fitbit app is entering a new era, rising like the Google Health app. With the new app, we gather all your health data, from wearable devices, Health Connect, Apple Health and your medical records in one place. You can get a holistic view of your health and soon you will probably be able to share your data with friends, family and doctors. Existing Fitbit users will be automatically upgraded to the new app, and later this year we’ll begin migrating Google Fit users to the Google Health app.
-Your personal health companion: Google Health Coach
Last October, we set out to build a new kind of coach — available 24/7, backed by science and designed to adapt to you and your health needs. It’s a fitness trainer, a sleep coach and a health and wellness advisor – all working together to help you be your best – whether that means maximizing performance on the court, in the office or at home with the family. In Public Preview, we have listened to your feedback and made continuous improvements. Starting May 19, we’re making Google Health Coach publicly available as part of Google Health Premium (formerly Fitbit Premium). Premium subscriptions start at $9.99 per month or $99 per years and is automatically bundled as part of the Google AI Pro and Ultra tiers.
-Our most comfortable Fitbit ever: Fitbit Air
We believe that the right health tools should work for everyone, regardless of their lifestyle or budget. This is where the Fitbit Air comes into play. This discreet, screenless tracker is simple, affordable and comfortable enough to wear 24/7. We designed it with the Google Health Coach in mind – its advanced sensor technology provides the right data the coach needs to give you the most personalized guidance. And with the Stephen Curry Fitbit Air Special Edition, you can bring his edge to your own workout. Each Fitbit Air comes with 3 months free of Google Health Premium and is available in a variety of colors for $99 or $129 for the Special Edition.
We’re just getting started and will continue to make health more accessible and intuitive for everyone. We can’t wait to see how these tools help you achieve your goals and help you live a longer, healthier life.
