Luke Littler to take care of his own career after splitting from the management team in front of the World Grand Prix | DART NEWS

Luke Littler plans to look after his own career after a split from ZXF Sports Management on the threshold of the World Grand Prix.

Littler, who spoke after his scintillating 2-0 win over Gian van Veen in the opening round of the double-in, double-out event in Leicester, will now primarily control himself with the help of family and Garry Plummer on Target Darts.

The reigning world and the world’s matchplay champion and the 2024 Premier League winner had been in his former leadership team, run by Martin Folds, since 13 years in 2020.

Littler would not be drawn on the grounds of the break -up, but told journalists on Tuesday: “I’m on my own. Like myself, I think it’s better.

“Obviously I’ve got my family to support me and of course Martin [Foulds] Had done his job but I think it was the right time.

“Booking flights, hotels and all that, and we’re on our own.

A few weeks ago, Littler published a joke message on his social media channels, claiming he took time away from darts …. x credit: @Lukethenuke180.

“I want help from Garry [Plummer] Also at Target. It becomes massive; We’re going in the right direction.

“No one knows what’s going on behind the scenes. And I’m not saying anything, but that was just the right time.”

Littler: I can definitely do some damage

Littler’s victory over Van Veen included the finish of 151 and a match-clinching 144, when his opponent lost despite registration of the highest average in the World Grand Prix story The Dutchman’s 106.47, which darkened 106.45, registered by Alan Warriner-Little in 2001.

Littler, who suffered a first round of exit to Rob Cross on his Grand Prix debut last year, was an average of 105.58 and said, “I can certainly do some injuries. Obviously the performance shows it.

“It’s still only around one. We still have plenty of time to go to think of lifting the trophy. Just take that game after games.

“It’s one of [major titles] It is missing for me and it is certainly not the easiest. Obviously, as I’ve played there, hopefully I can come back in a few days and get the job done again. “

Littler: van Veen is incredible

Littler had great praise for Van Veen as he tilted the world # 15 for possible Premier League cluttering next year and also of perhaps winning a bigger crown in the near future.

World # 2 added: “Gian played his role but the second set I was a little too much for him. He didn’t go away. But I knocked it up and I continued to win it.

“Obviously, the next few tournaments, if Gian goes deep into them, then I hope he gets the Premier League.

“It wouldn’t surprise me if these two [Gian and Josh Rock] won a major in the few months or next few years. They are incredible. “
