Gemini for the home is built on the same powerful AI models with unique capabilities designed for the home. It offers reliable, hands -free help and can control complex tasks across all your home units, help each member of your household as well as visitors and guests.
Gemini to home: a brand new, more powerful assistant
Gemini for Home uses the advanced reasoning, inference and search features in our most skilled models, making it both more powerful and easier to use than Google Assistant. You are still saying “Hey Google” to get started, but your interactions feel basic new. Gemini will understand the context and get it done, and we replace rigid commands so you can also use more nuanced or complex requests.
Here are a few ways that Gemini for the home is better at helping with daily tasks:
- Experience and play media: Ask Gemini to “play the Song of the Year winner from 1990” or “Play that song from this year’s summer -Blockbuster about racing cars” and it will help you find and play what you’re looking for across multiple streaming platforms.

Gemini Live is coming to your home now. With its intuitive conversation functions, it is easy to get detailed, personalized and expert help with what you are working on. Start a Gemini Live conversation with “Hey Google, let’s chat” and from that time have a natural back and forth discussion (no more “Hey Google” required). Explore new concepts, learn a skill, brainstorm ideas or get personal advice. You can also interrupt answers to refine or redirect the discussion so that you get the specific information you are looking for quickly.
- Get help in the kitchen: Gemini Live provides better help with more complex cooking challenges that “I have spinach, eggs, cream cheese and smoked salmon in the fridge. Help me make a delicious meal.” Gemini Live offers suggestions for florentine eggs, a frittata and pasta along with instructions on how to make them.
