Our vision for pixel has always been to create a smartphone defined by smart, useful features – the kind that makes your life easier. At the core of this is the tensor, Google’s specially designed mobile processor. When we introduced the tensor five years ago, it pushed the limits of what was possible on your pixel phone through advanced machine learning. Now, in close partnership with Google Research Teams, we will deliver the next chapter in AI innovations with the biggest upgrade to our custom silicon yet: Google Tensor G5.
Here are five things to know about the new Tensor G5 -CHIP:
1. Google Tensor G5 is our biggest upgrade yet and delivers a great performance boost.
We have made improvements across the Tensor G5, including up to 60% more powerful TPU and 34% faster on average CPU, making your pixel more responsive for daily use, such as browsing the Internet and the latest AI features. The Tensor G5 is designed in the leading 3 NM process node from TSMC – a manufacturing technology that allows us to wrap more transistors into the chip so that it is more powerful and effective.
New security hardware in the Tensor G5 also protects Pixel even better throughout its life cycle, from making to the moment it is in your hand.
2. It unlocks the most advanced AI on any telephone resort and more effective.
Thanks to our close partnership with Google Deepmind, the Tensor G5 is the first chip to run the latest Gemini Nano model and lock many fully on Device Generative AI experiences at launch (more about it below!). The Tensor G5 not only runs the highest quality model, it makes it faster and more efficient than previous generations. In fact, with Tensor G5’s higher performance and optimizations in the latest model, the Gemini Nano 2.6x runs faster and 2x more efficiently for use cases such as pix screen pictures and recorder.
3. It enables proactive, useful new Pixel 10 features.
Unique pixel features such as Magic Cue, Voice Translate, Call Notes with Actions and Personal Journal Brings You New Kind of Proactive Help Everyone on one of the Device Thanks to Tensor G5. The Tensor G5 with Gemini Nano also improves features you already know and love, like scam detection and natural voice registration with GBOARD.
4. Google Tensor G5 Powers Pixel’s Best Camera yet.
The Pixel 10 Pro is the best smartphone camera for photography, supported by a brand new image signal processor (ISP) in the Tensor G5. Our ISP helps you capture the highest quality videos of a pixel every time, even in low lighting, with exercise deblur and 10-bit video as standard for 1080p and 4K30. Plus, it has improved real tone to seamlessly catch different skin colors for everyone in the picture or video so you can see each person in their most authentic light.
In addition to improvements in image and video quality, Tensor G5 drives a number of camera features, including ADD ME, Auto Best Take and Pro Res Zoom, allowing the largest model to ever run in the pixel camera to expand your zoom area to a fantastic 100X with a great detail.
The Pixel 10S camera app is the first with C2PA content information built-in. The full process takes place on the device on the Tensor G5 and Titan M2 Security Chip, where we create secure metadata within the image that documents its full journey. It achieved the highest security assessment currently defined by C2PA.
5. It helps your pixel phone to last all day.
Even with all these new features wrapped, each Pixel 10 -phone has over 30 hours of battery life. It’s enough power to cover you from the moment you wake up until long after you go to bed.
